It didn't take long before I connected two and two together to form the conceptual foundation for RaceMash and came up with the name itself. When it comes to the latter, I believe replacement of the letter _F_ with the letter _R_ in FaceMash is pretty much self-explanatory, and registering `racemash.com` domain name even more so. For the record, I didn't find what Mark had done _cool_, or otherwise morally acceptable. I did, however, enetertain the idea of using the core FaceMash mechanic of having the users choose one of two randomly selected **photographs** and updating their internal ratings based on the users' votes.
But when it comes to the former, don't skip to the tech stack bit just yet, because my app will have two more features up its sleeve. It didn't take long before I came up with the name itself. Replacing the letter _F_ with the letter _R_ in FaceMash seemed like a fitting choice, given that my app would feature images of race cars. I settled on the name shortly after I found out that the `racemash.com` domain name had been available. And yes, I did go on to register it.
